Old Tricks, Same Culture of Death
The Culture of Death is once again on the rampage attempting to silence truth. The mass media, for the most part, played a bias role in covering this year's March for Life and now we have pro-abortionists trying to silence the message of Tim Tebow and his mother [Petition Launched: Support CBS's Decision to Air Tim Tebow Super Bowl Ad].
Adding to these woes is the deception is death guised in the cover of philanthropy. We can take into consideration the recent earthquake and destruction in Haiti. Organization likes Caritas and Catholic Relief Services made immediate efforts to reach out to traumatized people, people who have lost everything, providing food, water, shelter, etc. Meanwhile, International Planned Parenthood Federation is concerned about bringing their contraception and abortion culture to the already ravaged country. The organization is whining about its two lost clinics and by the description of their blog, you would think that they were adminstering first-aid en masse (which they are not!). The bottom line, these people need real medical help and treatment! Abortion and contraception are not medical treatments; rather, they disrupt a functioning body from its natural function. Therefore, it is not medical treatment but a feeble attempt to master one's body and is riddled with serious consequences (Ex. Depression, Cancer, Arterial Ruptures, etc.).
Even in a country ravaged by death, the culture of death is trying to turn a quick buck, but is this what that Haiti needs? NO! There is enough death in Haiti to last a life time. There is no need to kill off the young and there is no need to lead people toward promiscuous behavior that may cause their death. This is the time to rebuild, not destroy.
This is an important time for Christians to keep fighting. Change is on the horizon as long as we do not relent. Let us not be discouraged, as truth is on our side. We must continue to pray, to speak, and to fight the darkness of the culture of death. We must continue to show that those in the womb are indeed human beings and human life is valuable in all its forms. We musn't give up one inch of ground, as every inch we lose is soaked with the blood of the young. We musn't relent!
Most sweet Jesus, Redeemer of the human race, look down upon us humbly prostrate before your altar (or in your presence). We are Yours and Yours we wish to be; but, to be more surely united with You, behold each one of us freely consecrates himself today to Your Most Sacred Heart.
Many indeed have never known You; many too, despising Your precepts, have rejected you. Have mercy on them all, most merciful Jesus, and draw them to Your Sacred Heart.
Be King, O Lord, not only of the faithful who have never forsaken You, but also of the prodigal children who have abandoned You; grant that they may return quickly to their Father's house lest they die of wretchedness and hunger.
Be King of those who are deceived by erroneous opinions, or whom discord keeps aloof; call them back to the harbor of truth and unity of faith, so that soon there may be but one flock and one Shepherd.
Grant, O Lord, to Your Church assurance of freedom and immunity from harm; give peace and order to all nations, and make the earth resound from pole to pole with one cry: Praise to the Divine Heart that wrought our salvation; to It be glory and honor forever. Amen.
