Off FACEBOOK for Lent

Every year, I go off Facebook for Lent and I usually put up a picture on my profile to reflect that. This year, I kind of played with a picture to make it more my own and I like, so I thought I would share it.

I think it is a good practice to give up Facebook to mortify one's self amongst other things, so if you are up to the challenge, feel free to use the the picture =)

Kudos to you!

I'm making the same sacrifice this year and for me, what a sacrifice it will be. I'm not particularly religious, but wow has Facebook caused quite a distance between what I *want* to do and what I *SHOULD* be doing.

So yes.... for me, off Facebook for Lent!

How sad are the times when the youth are openly corrupted. It is a travesty that young boys, aged between 12-14, will no longer be led down the road of self-restraint, but will now have a means to give into their base passions. Condoms provide only a means to self-gratification and a path to incomplete love. Fighting for Christmas

Et Verbum caro factum est et habitavit in nobis (And the Word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us). This is a great demonstration of the love and humility possessed by Our Lord, Jesus Christ, yet I find myself walking the streets of Singapore surrounded by an endless barrage of sales and secular symbols of Christmas. A Self-Righteous Pharisee Complaining

Life is quite amusing. It becomes all the more hilarious when people use terms and words which they don't truly comprehend. For example, pharisee. Yes, that is right, pharisee. I had the privilege of someone, in not so many words, say that I sound like a pharisee; however, this person does not know me and the discussion, which was transpiring on a mutual friend's Facebook page, was about Eucharistic reception on the tongue and hand. My friend, who shall remain nameless, shared an experience that occurred and his feelings about Eucharistic reception, and of course, a discussion ensued. The reason the discussion progressed to a degree was due to the fact that we cannot receive the Eucharist on our tongue.
